Taste of India: Cooking Class
Join us on Saturday, July 15th from 2:00-5:00 for an Indian Cooking Class, presented by culinary instructor, Archana Verma.
Archana Verma was raised in a food household in Northern India. Her mother was an avid cook and her father was an athletic, health conscious doctor.
Archana’s engineering career brought her to North America. After 8 years in the technology field, she became a homemaker and began to pursue her passion as a culinary instructor. She has been teaching Indian vegetarian recipes since 2009 at PCC Natural markets, Seattle Vegfest and for many non-profit events in the greater Seattle area.
During the Language of Food, Taste of India event, Archana will be demonstrating how to cook a traditional Indian vegetarian family meal.
Paneer Tikka- broiled, spice marinated paneer cheese and bell peppers
Chana Masala- garbanzo beans with curry gravy
Vegetable Pulao- cumin-cinnamon infused aromatic basmati rice with vegetables
Gobhi-Matar- cauliflower and peas sautéed with turmeric and Indian spices
Naan- Indian flatbread
Kheer- cardamom infused rice pudding
An Indian banquet and cultural show will follow the cooking class from 6:00-9:00. You can buy tickets online, $40 for the cooking class only, $65 for the banquet only, or $100 for both events.
