Japanese Horticulture Workshop and Luncheon
Japanese Horticulture Event with Masa Mizuno
Saturday, April 30: 10am – 1pm
Clinton, Whidbey Island, WA
NWLA is honored to welcome back revered Japanese Master Gardener Masa Mizuno to Whidbey Island. Last year’s workshop was such a huge success, Mizuno-san has graciously agreed to again lead a pruning workshop in the beautiful Bodine Japanese gardens in Clinton. The event includes a Q&A, tours of the gardens and pond, followed by an authentic Japanese luncheon.
As Director of the celebrated Portland Japanese Gardens, Osaka native Masa Mizuno has installed public and private Japanese gardens around the world. With his assistant Mark Akai, Mizuno-san has designed and maintained several remarkable Japanese Pond Gardens on Whidbey Island. This will be a unique opportunity to view one of these, in its maturity, and to interact with a living master of Japanese Gardening.
The price of $75 includes the workshop, and luncheon. All proceeds benefit the NWLA scholarship fund. To reserve your place, contact us at 360-321-2101 or email
