Designed for busy people who wish to acquire language skills quickly for personal or professional use, NWLACC’s Immersion Weekends are dynamic, 12-hour intensives emphasizing conversational ability in practical situations, complemented by cultural instruction and travel advice. With the help of our experienced, energetic guides, you are invited to experience the living atmosphere of a language through regional food, music, art, and film. Lively conversational instruction helps lead you toward fluency, teaching patterns of conversation that you can apply to real-life situations like ordering in restaurants, handling money, shopping, and getting around. Typically, Immersions begin Saturday morning and end Sunday late afternoon. Saturday’s lunch is prepared on-site and served in NWLACC’s spacious dining room, and a continental breakfast is included on Sunday morning. Evenings are free to explore Whidbey Island’s towns and beaches or relax at the picturesque NWLACC campus.
Our charming & artistic friend and collaborator, Sylvie Joseph-Julien of Bellevue and Paris, Director and Founder of Atelier D’Ichere (click here to see their website), is planning to hold two French immersion weekends this fall at NWLACC! “Guerre & Paix” on November 11, 2017 (Click here to find out more) and two days of “Nous sommes tous artistes!” on December 2 and 3, 2017 (Click here to find out more)
