About your teacher: Tessa Hays-Nordin, born and raised on the Island, is recently back after having lived 9 years in Paris, France. In Paris, she studied at the International School of Physical Acting Jacques LeCoq and obtained her Master of theatre; philosophy and esthetic within the performance arts at the University of Paris. Over the past years, Tessa has developed her own methods for teaching language that gently question and challenge post-colonial concepts and values around teaching, learning, confidence, and power. In her teaching, she has drawn on music, poetry and theatrical techniques, along with basic conversation, to help students experience language while successfully generating new memory and capacity to express themselves in it.
