Enrich your family’s winter holidays with new multi-cultural appreciation and practices.
Join us on Saturday, December 8thfrom 10 – 1 at the Langley Community Center for a unique and fun learning opportunity for young children and their families, and experience some of the Holiday Traditions of World Cultures – 3 hours of holiday themed crafts, stories, songs and games.
There would be 8 stations representing Bulgaria, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Spain led by native speaking presenters where kids will learn hands-on about a traditional food, craft, game, song & dance of that country.
Students from SW High School Language Clubs and other volunteers will be the tour guides, so that small groups can rotate between the stations and have the opportunity to experience the full variety of activities.
In addition there will be a bi-lingual German puppet show, a raffle and Russian Christmas ornament Bazaar table.
Cross Cultural Competency is among the 10 most important skills of the future. Northwest Language and Cultural Center (NWLACC) is dedicated to bringing innovative resources to the children of our community to spark interest and appreciation of diversity, build a foundation for learning language and developing intercultural understanding.
